Head Miller & Maintenance Manager

21st Century Grain, a subsidiary of Viterra, has a
position opening for an experienced leader to join our team as the Head
Miller & Maintenance Manager.
The Head Miller & Maintenance Manager will be
responsible for the performance and efficiency of all milling equipment
and maintenance operations within the facility and will be relied upon
to recommend new ideas and approaches to operational efficiency. This
position will assist with the identification and management of capital
projects, resolution of critical issues within milling and maintenance,
and will foster an environment focused on continuous improvement for all
processes and services.
The Head Miller & Maintenance Manager must be
experienced in wheat milling and maintenance management, dedicated to
maintaining technical knowledge by staying current in technology,
trends, innovations and best practices, and will be responsible for
providing strong leadership in the areas of safety & food safety. The
position will provide direction to milling and maintenance staff and
will be responsible for all aspects of human resource management
including hiring, performance management, coaching, and regulatory
compliance.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary
degree in Milling or Engineering, supplemented by a minimum of five (5)
years experience managing a mill or maintenance department. Previous
project management experience is required. Equivalent combinations of
education and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills and
abilities will be considered.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills are essential. Candidates must have good
analytical, mechanical and problem solving skills, and should possess a
high level of computer competency and strong presentation skills.

City, NE facility.
The Plant Manager is responsible for the general
oversight and overall performance of the facility. Overall
responsibilities will include, but not limited to, all aspects of human
resource management, budgeting, capital projects, operations, and
pro-active safety, health and environmental programs.
Successful candidates should have a degree in
Engineering, Food Science, Science, Business Management or equivalent
and a minimum of at least 5 years of experience managing a nonunion
and/or unionized facility of 30 employees or more in the food industry.

FACULTY POSITION IN MILLING
Department of Grain Science and Industry | Kansas State University,
Manhattan, Kansas
Position: NAMA Instructor of Milling (100% teaching)
Responsibilities: The Department of Grain Science and Industry
seeks applications for a non-tenure-track, annually renewable position
at the Instructor level in the area of milling science and management.
The position is for the 9-month academic year, with the possibility to
work during the summer months to supplement salary. As a member of the
department’s faculty reporting to the department head, the successful
candidate will teach undergraduate courses and laboratory sections in
milling/grain processing, equipment selection and maintenance, process
operations management, and related safety and regulatory issues in the
Milling Science and Management (MSM) program. The successful candidate
will bring a high level of milling industry experience and expertise to
the classroom teaching, laboratory and pilot mill settings that are part
of MSM courses. This instructor will also support related programmatic
efforts such as student advising, student recruitment, internships and
job placement, curriculum development, and service on departmental
committees.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a B.S. in milling science,
cereal science, process engineering, or a related discipline with a
minimum of five years direct experience in the wheat, corn, oat or rye
milling (or related) industry including production or operating
experience, maintenance supervision, and/or project management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to speak
clear English, and demonstrated ability and interest to teach in a
classroom setting are a must. The successful applicant must be able to
work effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Strong commitment to
expanding and fostering diversity in the department.
